Designed by Bell Labs research and development arm of Lucent Technologies, LC is a high-density optical connector for single mode and multimode fiber used in public and private networks. They are designed to provide an RJ-45 style that is very familiar to installers, copper modular jack to handle all the time.

Duplex LC is polarized, which makes clear guidance for the adapter without manipulation. LC duplex polarity are A / BMarkings and meet TIA 568-A and ISO 11801 standards. The polarity takes Tx / Rx directions.

LC has an excellent performance. They are made to pull-proof, able to handle tight radius of curvature and Bellcore GR-409 compliant. LC duplex adapters to fit standard RJ-45 section, which is a big advantage compared to SC, ST and other 2.5 mm ferrule fiber links.

:: LC Connector Dimensions

There is a type of small form factor and takes only half the size of a SC connector. A typical two mm LCJacket fiber measures 50.4 mm in length, 5.59 mm wide and 5.59 mm in height. (The total height is 10.43 mm, even if the RJ-latch type).

LC has a diameter of mm ceramic 1.25 (zirconia ferrule) from the pole 1.8 mm connector body.

IEC 61754-20 defines specific connector family. LC to follow all manufacturers should disclose this information to ensure full compliance with industry standards.

:: Connector material

The main body iscomposed of many parts, including capillary (zirconia, a type of pottery), flange (brass), hose (PTFE), Plug-frame (PPSU), spring (stainless steel) and plug (brass PPSU +).

The crimp ring is made of aluminum alloy Sumitube more. The start and the cap are made of TPEE.
